Independance Day/Weekend

We had a great 4th of July weekend!
I woke up Saturday morning ready to go on a jog. I haven't exercised even once since Tyce was born and I've been aching to get moving. I jogged the first mile, did some sprints the second mile and then wogged for another mile and a half. I felt great and I was so happy to be back on the trail! Until a few hours later when I started to feel pains that made me realize my body isn't quite ready for that kind of exercise. I guess I should go walking for a week or two and then try jogging again.
We lounged around enjoying our Saturday afternoon until it was time to go to Tami's house. My dad was in town for the weekend but would be going back to NM on the 4th so we decided to have a BBQ and do our own little fireworks show. It was such a fun night! The food was great and I always love sitting around and chatting with my family. Kev was on the computer for quite some time trying to figure out how to make a movie for Tami for Girls Camp. When it started to get dark Garren started up Toy Story 3 on their outdoor movie screen. We made an intermission to do our fireworks. Kevin was proud of himself for buying fireworks this year--a first! We usually just enjoy at other people's expense :) So Kev and Charlie got started on our show and the rest of us sat back and enjoyed!

Monday afternoon (4th of July) we were looking for something fun to do. Kevin wanted to go see 'Transformers' but we didn't have a babysitter available. I suggested the pool or a hike but Kevin was set on a movie. Rylan also wanted to go swimming so Kevin set up the baby pool in the backyard and turned on the sprinklers. The boys had a blast! Kevin even said "They're not fighting for once"! They really had a lot of fun in that little tiny pool!

At 2:30 we rushed them inside to change clothes so we could go see Cars 2. Rylan got to see it a couple weeks ago with Daylen so he wasn't as excited to go see it. But Asher was very excited! We got there just as it was starting and had to sit in the front. Kevin sat with Asher and Rylan and I sat in front of them. Not great seats but they worked. I like the first Cars movie better but we were all entertained for most of the show. Asher got restless the last 5 minutes or so, but he really did great!
After the movie we stopped at Krispy Kremes so we could take donuts with us to see the fireworks in Pleasant Grove with my family.
Most of us brought pizza for dinner and we all brought a snack to share. We talked and played and ate before the fireworks began.
Asher fell asleep on the way there and got a nice little nap in. I let him sleep as long as possible knowing we were going to be out late.

The triplets hiding from the rain.

Kevin was trying to get a picture of Tyce smiling but didn't quite capture the full smile. I just love his profile--he's so CUTE!!

Sneaking snacks

The fireworks were amazing! We were so close that I honestly was a teensy bit scared a couple times. Maybe it was the falling ash and cardboard debris that got me scared for the safety of mt eyeballs and the eyeballs of my children! I kept Tyce sleeping undercover so he was the only one who wasn't covered in ash when we left. But seriously, being so close was amazing. And the show was beautiful! Definitely want to go back there next year!
