Summer Fun in June

Here's a round up of our summer happenings this month.

I love a sleeping baby.
I also love an alert baby.
I also love a crying baby but it sometimes makes me sad.
A trip to the Aquarium with Tami and kids and Kacy and kids!

Enjoying a windy summer day with Sno cones after getting all sweaty at Jump On It. (Again with Tami, Kacy and their kiddos!!)

Kevin ran the Ragnar with the Xango team again this year. Of course he loved it and came home exhausted. Now he's prepping for the Vegas Ragnar with his brothers and friends.
Eat, sleep, run, repeat

Kev's parents watched all three boys for us while we had lots of fun at the RSL game! I had planned on taking Tyce with me but Mary Kaye offered to take him so I gave in. I missed my baby but it was good to be out with just my hubby! Our seats were front row on the south end of the stadium which were Awesome when Real's action was down there! One poor player on Toronto's team got a lot of grief and boo's throughout the entire second half and since we were so close Kevin was sucked into booing with the rest of the crowd. Kev was smiling the entire time. He was having way too much fun booing!!

Again, I love a sleeping baby!

June Quotes

(June 1, 2011)
As he was going outside to play with friends Ry was saying goodbye to Asher and me and said "I'll be back in a certain minutes."
I just laugh at the way he tries to use new words, not always using them exactly right.

(June 7, 2011)
Rylan asked if he could watch tv while eating his lunch. I told him he could watch a show after he finished eating. He put his hands over his ears and said "What? I can't hear you. I didn't hear you say 'no'".

(June 9, 2011)
While looking at a sleeping Tyce, Rylan pointed out the little veins on Tyce's eyelids and said "Those red things look like cracks in his eyes".

(June 17, 2011)
Tami: "Rylan, do you want to go with us to get worms for the gecko?"
after a brief pause, Ry: "I'm not very good at finding worms."
Cute boy thought they were going to find worms in the dirt! Worms are much easier to find at the pet store!!

(June 22, 2011)
Ry: "It's hotter out here than the hottest oven"

(June 23, 2011)
Me: "We need to get home because Evan wants you to go play at his house."
Ry: "I would like that."
He just said it so casually without much excitement which made him sound so grown up!

(June 28, 2011)
Ry: "Why did you call me 'sweetheart'? Is it because you love me?"
YES!!

Asher:
(June 17, 2011)
While playing at the park Asher went through one of those tunnels that kinda sorta look like a baby slide. Halfway down/through he looked at Tami and said "That wasn't very exciting"!

Tyce was crying and I was preoccupied so I asked Rylan to give Tyce his pacifier. (He gets asked to do this a lot!) He came back to me and said "Now I won't have to do that for a long time." I didn't know what he was talking about but this is what I found...

It's a lavender scented bag of beans (to heat up and keep your feet warm) supporting the pacifier. Funny! Good thing I don't stray too far from my baby!

And here's just another picture of my sweet babe...

Too Noisy

Tyce was trying to take a peaceful nap with his daddy while Rylan and Asher were running around like crazy boys. Hee Hee :)

Store Clerk

Rylan's imagination has been working better than ever these days. The other day I heard him playing 'Store' and I came in to see him with a pencil behind his ear being the store clerk. I thought it was so cute :) I mean seriously, where did he get the idea of the pencil behind the ear? I don't typically walk around with a pencil behind my ear. Does Kevin? I don't think so. But sometimes Ry notices those types of things. Wait a minute...I think I'd notice if Kevin had a pencil behind his ear! Anyways, it was cute!!
I think on his paper he had made a list of what he was selling and how much it cost.

Family Reunion

Our annual Goodman family reunion was this weekend. The last two years we've gone to the Heber Valley Campground to catch up on everyone's lives and camp for the night. This year I wasn't ready to sleep away from home with my little baby. Even though we were in cabins I was worried about him being too cold and waking everyone up multiple times throughout the night. So we just went up Friday afternoon and hung out for several hours.
We took a small walk around the pond when we first got there. And we heard a frog! It really was kinda exciting, even though we couldn't find him...we were close though! We enjoyed a dinner of hawaiian haystacks and got to chat for awhile. Each family (my mom and her brothers and sisters) went down the line and did a quick recap on everyone's doings. Even though most of us live here in Utah we don't see each other but a couple times a year (or maybe just the one time at family reunions). So it's always interesting to hear what's going on.

Some people went up to roast marshmallows. I stayed in the covered pavillion with my babe but Kev took the boys to the fire to roast--the first marshmallow roast of the summer!! Of course the boys loved it and I can't wait for more of that! I got to chat and laugh with my sisters and cousins and before I was ready, it was time to go. I heard their Saturday activities were super fun and I was sad to have missed out on them, but I was glad the gathering was close enough that we could join in the fun for a few hours!!

Brothers

Rylan and Asher love their baby brother. They really amaze me at how sweet they are with him. In fact, Asher can be upset and crying and mad about something, but as soon as he sees the baby he'll calm down and use his super sweet voice to say 'hi' to Tyce. Oftentimes I find cars or trains in Tyce's bed or car seat because the boys are trying to play with him. They absolutely love it when Tyce has his eyes open. They will both huddle around him and get as close as possible. This often results in fights over who gets to look at the baby! I don't blame them though--I like to sit there and stare at the baby, too! I sure hope these three boys grow to be the best of friends.

We sure do love having Tyce as part of our family. He makes us all happy :)
