Tyce:
(April 6, 2013)
I sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star to Tyce every day before his nap. Today he started singing with me! The words weren't clear but I could tell what he was doing :)
Rylan:
(April 28, 2013)
We were in the car and Tyce was making silly noises. Rylan was laughing uncontrollably and when he caught his breath he said "I cannot handle it!"
Asher:
(April 3, 2013)
Asher brought home a snack bag from preschool that had some pretzels and trail mix in it. He was sharing with Rylan and Ry handed him some peanuts. Asher pushed his hand away and said "I hate nuts. Those are peanut butter nuts."
(April 22, 2013)
Asher was saying our prayer before bed and he prayed that if there was a fire "we can tell mom and dad and get out in no time."

18 Weeks
I had my 18 week dr. appt today and all is well! I'm hoping I'm finally over the nausea. Yesterday and today have been good days so I'm keeping my fingers crossed and my hopes high. I got to hear the heartbeat. Dr. Nance's guess is that I'm having another boy. But he said he's never been good at guessing and he's been mostly wrong the last few weeks. The other day I was sitting in Tyce's room with him as he was trying to go down for a nap and I looked up the Chinese gender chart and took a couple gender quizzes. They all said it's a boy! I'll admit that when Dr. Nance agreed I felt a bit of disappointment. I've been saying I wouldn't mind another boy because my boys are just so much fun. And ever since Tyce was born I've been saying another boy would be great. Kevin has said several times I'm just saying that to protect myself in case it is another boy. Maybe he's kind of right?! But, my ultrasound is scheduled for May 16th so we'll keep guessing until then!
When I was pregnant with Tyce I got a really bad varicose vein on the back of my right leg. It was towards the end of my pregnancy and it hurt but luckily it went away after he was born. Well, it didn't take long for it to pop back up again with this pregnancy and boy oh boy does it hurt! It's gotten worse...the length of the vein and the pain. Kevin says I can get my veins fixed after I have the baby. Nice! I was at the gym last week and looked in the mirror and thought "I have my mom's legs". She does not wear anything but long pants and skirt/dresses because she's never liked her varicose veins. So her legs don't see the sun. And she gets bruised easily as well. At the gym I noticed a big bruise around my ankle. Over the last week it's spread and hasn't gotten better but it started hurting. Dr Nance told me some terrible news today--it's not a bruise but a collection of spider veins and they're not going away :( Oh my! He said varicose veins are easy to fix but these spider veins are a lot harder. Well, guess I'm gonna have to suck it up and not be vain (ha ha!) so I don't spend all summer in pants!!
Ok, so long lasting nausea and ugly veins aside, I'm happy to be pregnant. A bit nervous to have 4 sweet children to be the mother of, but thrilled to have a little baby. I'm pretty certain I've felt this babe move and that's exciting. Asher has been incredibly sweet and he'll occasionally come rub my belly :) I was lying on the couch a week or so ago, feeling very sick, and Asher and Tyce were crawling all over me. I asked them to stop because I was feeling so sick and they were kicking me...Tyce sat by my head and gently caressed my face. For so long that I nearly fell asleep. So incredibly sweet. Love my boys!

Latter Day Saints
Asher brought this paper home from primary today that he had colored. He told me "I drew ladders on it since we're the ladder day saints." HA! So funny!

Field Trip Time
Rylan's class (and the other first grade classes) took a field trip up to the University of Utah to visit the Natural History Museum and I got to go! Well, they rode on the bus and I met them up there. Rylan was excited for the bus ride, especially since he got to choose who he was sitting with--Josh and Christian of course!
We had a fun little group of four boys--Rylan, Christian, Connor, and Carter. I let them take the lead and choose where they wanted to go. They led me around and asked some really good questions. Some of them I didn't have answers for but I hope they learned something! At least I know we all had fun!
We came up here a year or two ago with my sisters and kids. Rylan and I both remembered a lot from that visit and he had his specific spots picked out that he was looking forward to seeing again. One of them was the table that shows the land of Utah today. You can crank a wheel to add water to show what it was like years ago when Lake Bonneville was around covering most of western Utah. Then you can drain the water to see what parts of the land were exposed. It's kinda cool. I think Rylan just likes playing with the water!
We took sack lunches to eat there and then just after lunch they hopped on the bus again to head back to school. The day went by fast but I was exhausted on my way home. I was glad I had a swiss cake roll to munch on :)
This was out on the deck of the weather station. It was a rather chilly and windy day!The boys all kept their jackets on the entire time.
Everyone loves sand and water to learn about erosion!
Break time...in the middle of the walkway :)
We spent as much time as we could at this dinosaur bone site. Instead of digging in sand it has little squishy foam type pieces. It was cool! The space was really small and there were other kids waiting so we had to move on sooner than the boys wanted.

Spring Break
I think Rylan and I were both ready for spring break. I suggested some fun things for us to do but Rylan and Asher just wanted to stay home all day in their pajamas. Okay, can't complain about that!!
Asher had a make-up day for preschool on Wednesday and it was the first sunny day of the week. So after class we went to enjoy the park. Rylan rode his bike (as well as his friend Matt) and I had on my rollerblades with Asher and Tyce in the stroller. We did this all the time last year but apparently our winter has been a bit lazy. Rylan quickly got tired and whined most of the way there about how he was too tired to go any further and he had to get in the stroller. It was a struggle but we eventually made it to the park!
We met Deborah and kids there with our picnic lunches. The kids nibbled their food and played and nibbled their food and relaxed and nibbled their food and played. It was so nice to be outside. I've become the lazy mom at the park and try to just sit there as long as I can without playing with my kids. They want to swing? Okay later, go down the slide again. Rylan and Asher have become pretty good at helping Tyce around the playground. Maybe I'll get some more energy and be a more fun park mom soon :)
Okay, okay, I did eventually get up and push them in the swings. Rylan's a pro now and doesn't need my help but I was glad they all got on the swings at the same time. The park was so busy and there are only a few swings so they are hard to get!
We did have some more fun over spring break, other than staying in our jammies all day. One day we met Kevin at the theater to watch The Croods which was pretty cute. Today we met Kevin at Hang Time so the boys could jump. They love those foam pits! I was watching Tyce while he was in the little kid area and I heard another mom calling for her Tyce. Of course I had to talk to her! Her little Tyce just turned two and was named after her husband's grandpa (or maybe dad). Fun! After working up an appetite I made Kevin take us to Texas Roadhouse for dinner--delicious!

Too Claustrophobic for me!
We were out front playing when Kev came home from work today. His old Xango carpool buddy had stopped by to drop off some Christmas work party pictures so while Kevin and Dave were talking the boys climbed in the trunk. Tyce was happy to play in there until Kevin showed them how to open the trunk door from inside in case they ever got stuck in there. When the trunk was closed Tyce did not like it. But Asher and Rylan did! I brought them a flashlight and let them play in there until Dave left.
