Rylan:
(November 12, 2011)
While watching the BYU game
Ry: "Mom, I know how to spell BYU."
Me: "No way. How?"
Ry: "B. Y. U."
What can I say, my kid is a genius :)
(November 20, 2011)
Kevin was getting the boys in the shower and told them to get 2 toys to take with them. He reminded them to get toys that can get wet, toys that are waterproof. Rylan picked up a toy and asked if it was waterproof. No. "Is it fireproof?"
Kev: "Nope"
Rylan: "What is it? Nothing-proof?"
(November 21, 2011)
After sending Rylan to time out, Kevin went to talk to him about his behavior. During their talk Rylan said "Talking is a hundred times worse than time out."
(November 24, 2011)
Rylan was drawing fruits and vegetables on my steamy mirror after my shower and I was guessing what he drew. He drew half of a carrot and an apple slice, a strawberry, a watermelon...but this made me laugh:
Ry: "It start with 's'."
Me: "A vegetable that starts with s? Squash?"
Ry: "No, it rhymes with 'Spagaragus'."
Me: "Asparagus?"
Ry: "YES! I tricked you!!"
(November 30, 2011)
Ry: "There are a hundred things I don't like about dogs."
Me: "Really? Like what?"
Ry: "Everything."
A few seconds later...
Ry: "Mom, you know what I like about dogs?"
Me: "What?"
Ry: "Nothing."
Guess we won't be getting a dog any time soon!!
Asher:
(November 09, 2011)
While filling out our Thankful Turkey feathers...
Me: What is something you are thankful for?
Asher: "Food."
Me: "That's what you said yesterday. Pick something else."
Asher: "But I like it."
(November 10, 2011)
Ry: "Asher, are you thankful for money?"
Asher: "You can't eat money!"
Ha! Asher must think we can only be thankful for food. I've had a hard time getting him to name things other than food items that he's thankful for. Guess we need another lesson on gratitude!

He Lost a Tooth!
Rylan lost his first tooth on Sunday (November 13th)! It's been loose for quite some time but it still surprised me when he knocked it out. We were at the Vosti's for our Doyle FHE night when Steph came to me and said "Rylan lost his tooth. He really lost it." I found Rylan, who was crying. I had a feeling he was mostly just scared so I took him by the hand and we went downstairs with Kevin and Steph to find his tooth. Steph found it on the floor by the big bean bags!
Rylan said he was jumping from bag to bag and he "scraped" his tooth on the bean bag when he landed. I'm assuming his face rubbed along the bean bag and it just knocked his tooth right out! It was bleeding just a little bit, but not for long. Steph put his tooth in a baggie for him to bring home while I tried to calm Rylan down. Like I said, I think he was mostly scared but I'm sure it hurt a little, too.
You know what makes it all super cool? Sam had just lost his first tooth that morning!! Dennis took a picture of Rylan, Oliver, and Sam who are all kindergarteners this year. These boys are growing up! So fun they can hit these milestones together.
So I saw this monster tooth pillow on Pinterest before Ry even had a loose tooth. I don't sew but it looked easy enough for someone like me. When Rylan told me his tooth felt "dead" and I discovered the dead feeling was because his tooth was loose, we set out to the fabric store to get some fabric for his special tooth pillow. Well, it laid around and became a sword for the boys and then it got lost. We searched and searched and the pillow never got made. And then Ry's tooth falls out. Great. My procrastination got me again. So I made Rylan wait until I made his pillow before he could leave his tooth for the tooth fairy.
I borrowed my mom's sewing machine and stole some fabric from her scrap pile. I finally got busy on Tuesday and I felt confident as I cut out the material and started sewing. And then the sewing machine jammed up and I couldn't figure out what was wrong. Tami stopped by and looked at it but she didn't know either. So my mom came over just as I was leaving for Young Women's and *Poof* I came home to cute monster pillow!! (The above picture doesn't do it justice. It has a little mouth pocket where you put the tooth. It's really cute!) Rylan was already in bed so he had to wait yet another day before the tooth fairy could come. So finally on Wednesday night he put his tooth in the pillow and slept the night away.
Rylan woke up to a push pop and 4 quarters. He wasn't very excited about the push pop. He said that Oliver's tooth fairy left him a lollipop and that's what he wanted. So he gave his push pop to Asher. Well, Rylan has never had a push pop. So when he really got a good look at it and saw Asher enjoying it, Ry said "I think next time I lose a tooth, if the tooth fairy brings me a push pop, I'll keep it"!!
His other bottom tooth is loose so I'm sure it won't be too long!

6 Months
My baby is 6 months old! He's such a cute, fun little boy and not a day goes by that I don't hold him and stare at him in awe. Amazing. My babies are absolutely amazing!
For his 6 month birthday dinner he got to try rice cereal. He reacted as expected...funny face of disgust, open mouth for more, funny face again and then rejection of food!

This little boy is so much FUN! He still doesn't sit without support and he's only rolled from his back to his tummy a handful of times. But we all love to look at him and play with him! No teeth yet but you can see where they are about to come in. Actually you've been able to see them for a month or two. He likes to fly and play patty cake. He wakes up throughout the night to eat and doesn't particularly like to be rocked to sleep. I just wrap him up and lay him in his bed and he'll go to sleep on his own. (So why doesn't he put himself back to sleep when he wakes up during the night? Habit?)

Tyce had his 6 month check up today. Here are his stats:
Weight: 14.13 (6%)
Height: 25.5 (15%)
Head: 17.3 (52%)
He cried for only a moment after his shots. But the cutest was when the nurse was giving him his oral shot, Tyce wrapped his little legs around her arm like a baby monkey! It made us all laugh :)
He's a very sweet baby, laid back, and easy to please. Gosh I love this boy!
Asher had his 3 year check up today and did really well also. His stats:
Weight: 30.8 (44%)
Height: 36" (17%)
Asher has a nervous laugh like his mommy! When the nurse was about to give him his shots he started laughing, wanting to be brave but knowing what was coming. A couple times the doctor asked him to do something and Asher would look at me while nervously laughing. It was the first time I've seen him do that! He too, only cried momentarily after his shots. It was a successful visit!
Dr. Fullmer had his head shaved. I almost didn't recognize him. I wasn't sure what the proper protocol is so when our visit was just about over I asked him if he usually shaves his head. No, he's going through chemo. What? Lymphoma. Sad. He was very positive about it and positive about the outcome. He said his immune system has stayed fairly strong and although weak, his body is doing really well. He is a great doctor and I pray for him. I guess I'll wait three months for an update (when we go in for Tyce's 9 month check up!)

Tummy Time
Really none of my boys have been fond of tummy time. But we still try to get it in and today I had to snap a few pictures of this cute kid. Oh, I just love him! He'll stay on his tummy for maybe 2 seconds before rolling over to his back. It may be awhile before he has the desire to roll from his back to tummy!

Getting Cold
Look at this cutie!!
We've been having to wear our jackets outside these days while we play. I've been putting a hat on Tyce to make sure he stays warm and he's been happy being outside with us. We seem to do a lot of walking, too. Between taking/picking up Ry from school and walking him to/from his friend's house a few blocks away, Asher has had some good practice on the scooter! If we're in a hurry he has to ride in the stroller but he usually begs to ride the scooter.
This look is so Asher to me.
I'm loving that it's November and we're still able to enjoy playing outside with bikes and scooters. And come snow, I sure hope we have another car to drive Rylan to school!
Still in flip flops--we must be from Utah!
