I feel like I've been out of the blogging world. I have some catching up to do, including a tag from Jana (arg!) to list 5 interesting things about me. That entry will have to wait until a later date, because I'm going to have to think about that one! This month has been so busy, but with all I've been doing, somehow I'm still behind on my Christmas "to do" list. My Christmas cards still haven't been sent, I have many more gifts to buy, and I haven't even watched a single Christmas movie! Somehow there's been more to life that just relaxing with my little family, sipping our hot cocoa while we watch "Miracle on 34th street". I'm hoping that night happens soon. But I have managed to take a few photos of the last few weeks, which I'd like to share.
Kevin was gone for a week in Orlando for a convention for work. I tried and tried to tag along with him so I could hang out with you Jess! Obviously I didn't go, but instead I stayed home and watched my little sister's 2 girls for the week! So I had 3 kids and I was all alone with them. No refreshers in the evening, but we made it and dare I say, we had some good times?!
We had some great snow storms two Saturdays in a row! I bought a snow suit for Rylan several months ago. He was so dang cute all bundled up! At first I thought he wasn't quite sure what to do, but I think that really, he was just having a hard time moving around with all those layers! It didn't take him long to venture out in the snow and leave footprints (or really, bootprints) wherever he would go. I absolutely love the snow! What a beautiful scene it creates. The stillness that comes with the snow is one of my favorite parts. I found a fabulous tree to take a picture of next time there's a snow storm...just wait, you're gonna love it!
For our monthly Doyle dinner at Kevin's parents house, we had a Christmas program. We all showed up in our Bethlehem attire. Rylan was supposed to be a shepherd, but I borrowed a lamb costume from Kacy. He made the cutest lamb ever! (Of course he would have been the cutest shepherd ever though, too!) The grandkids acted out the parts while Kevin's dad read the story from the Bible. We all sang songs and just enjoyed the Christmas spirit.
The Xango Christmas party was this last week. It's a rare occassion for us to have something to "dress up" for and we had a good time. Christmas parties are always more fun for those people who win prizes, and Kevin wasn't one of those. BUT...the free food, the adult conversation, and the Christmas bonus made for a great night!!
We ended this last week off by playing a game of Settlers with some neighbors. I love playing games...especially when I win!! (By the way Karen, this was the first time we've played Settlers since Jan 15, 2006--nearly two years!! Whoa! We're looking forward to getting together with you and David for a game or two!)
I have lots planned for this week...lights at Temple Square on Monday, Ward Christmas party on Tuesday, volleyball on Wednesday, girls night out on Friday, BYU game on Saturday...I can tell it's going to be a good week! (And some day I'm going to learn more about this HTML so I can post pictures on here in an orderly fashion. I feel like these pics are all over the place!) I hope the Christmas season is being celebrated to the fullest by all of you!
