Friday

We took Ry to school and then took Kevin up to the warehouse. Time flew by today. We were a few minutes late picking up Rylan and then we only had a few minutes before Gavin came over. Rylan asked if he would have to clean up after Gavin left if he didn't play with Gavin. He's such a silly kid--trying to get out of cleanup! He did end up playing with him though and we didn't have time to clean up after he left so Ry got out of it :) Asher and Gavin always play so well together. It's very cute to watch them and listen to them. At one point I heard the three boys talking about being friends and Gavin told Rylan "Me and Asher are best friends"...so cute!!
I tried to do some clean up while the boys played all over inside and outside. As soon as I brought out the vacuum Ry and Asher asked if I would do the vacuum monster. They ask every time! Gavin joined in the fun and I got the downstairs vacuumed.
Amy came to pick up Gavin after 3:00 and we talked outside for awhile while the boys and Camryn rode scooters and chased each other. When they left I walked inside and looked at the clock--4:18. Hurry boys, time to go!! We were supposed to pick up Kevin at Thanksgiving Point at 5:00 (he got a ride up there after lunch). We got our shoes on, grabbed a few necessities, looked for and found my phone, and we finally left at about 4:45. I tried calling Kevin but it went straight to voicemail.
We battled a bit of traffic and then when we hit Orem Rylan got a bloody nose. The boys have had runny noses and he had asked for a kleenex. A minute or two later he said "Oh no!" and I looked in my rear view mirror to see he had a bloody nose. I handed him another kleenex and told him it was okay, just to hold the kleenex up to his nose. Then I heard him start to panic and he said "It's too much blood!" I looked back and he had the kleenex up to his nose but blood was just pouring out of his nose. I'll admit it was a bit frightening to me as well. I grabbed a handful of napkins and handed them back to him as I tried to calm him (and myself!) down. I was coming up on a a freeway exit so I zipped over there and stopped at the first place I could. I was on the phone with my mom (she's always the one to call when I'm in a panic!) as I was trying to hold the napkins to Ry's nose while he kept his head back. I got off the phone and was feeling so sad for my little boy--just because he was so scared! I was calmed down by this point so I think that helped Ry calm down, too! I really need to learn to keep my cool!! Poor Ry had blood all over his face, hands, shirt, seat belt, pants, even Tyce's car seat! Really, I'm amazed at how much blood there was. I've never had a bloody nose so it was shocking. Once the bleeding slowed down I was able to get things semi cleaned up. I had water so I wash up Rylan a bit but he was still a mess. I asked him if he wanted to go inside the bathroom at the gas station but he said he wanted to wait until we got to daddy's work or Grandma Doyle's house. Tyce was crying throughout most of this and Asher was sleeping soundly! Rylan kept saying things like "It's never gonna stop, I'm gonna die!" or "I'm not going to be able to go to sleep ever again because it keeps bleeding!" Is it the fear that brings those irrational thoughts to our mind? Cause I know I have thoughts like that when I'm scared or in a panic, too!
Kevin called when we were close. His phone was dead. When we got to his building he came outside with wet papertowels in hand. Again we tried to clean up some.
When we got to Grandma Doyle's the bleeding had stopped. Rylan insisted on keeping a kleenex up to his nose. Since he had a runny nose, he felt like it was always bleeding. He was okay though and didn't mind us leaving to go see Mission Impossible 3 at the dollar theater. He and Asher ate a pizza for dinner with snacks, I'm sure. They watched a movie and played while we enjoyed our own movie (with Tyce who got a little fussy so I stood up in the back with him and had to leave on a few occasions.)
When we went to pick up the boys Kevin laughed and told me there was a garbage can by Rylan that he had filled up with about 40 tissues, all barely used. Mary Kaye said he'd hold the kleenex up to his nose and get a new kleenex each time it became a little used (mostly with snot from his runny nose!) She sent us home with a box of kleenex for Rylan to hold in the car!
