Welcome Autumn

We had such a fantastic day today watching General Conference. I had an overwhelming feeling of love for the leaders of our church and the relationships they have with each other. What great sessions they had today...can't wait for tomorrow!

Rylan was invited to his first birthday party today (other than family, of course). The little neighbor boy, Nathan, was celebrating for his 3 year birthday. He brought an invitation over for Rylan earlier this week. The party was right during Rylan's nap time but I thought that just maybe with all the kids, fun, and cupcakes he'd be pleasant. Well, he wasn't. For about a half hour he had a great time. Then he started being grouchy and on the verge of throwing fits. Rather than battle with him I decided to get home and get him down for a nap. But when he was being good, it was cute to see him playing with the other kids, giving Nathan his present, and decorating cupcakes with a cute little boy Oliver.

Another thing about today that we loved was the weather. It rained ALL day! It was a nice drizzle...just enough to enjoy the gloominess, hear the drip drip drip outside and cuddle up on the couch with a blanket--LOVED IT! We've had such nice weather lately which we've thoroughly enjoyed. But this rain was welcome and made it really feel like October. Now I need to talk Kevin into taking me up in the mountains to be surrounded by the changing leaves. The mountains are turning red and I want to see it up close! We took the umbrella on our short walk to Nathan's house and Rylan was so excited to hold it. So later in the afternoon he wanted to go stand outside with the umbrella. And just like so many other things around our house it makes a great advertisement for Xango!

I was just thinking this morning that I want to get Josh to take me up in the mountains this week! Gotta hurry before the leaves are gone and winter is in full force!
