This is Kevin. Janell isn't feeling like writing because, well ... she just had a baby. So I'm going to pretend like I'm her:
Well, so much for 9 more days left! I went into labor early this morning and had a baby boy at 12:57 pm. He weighs 6 lb 12 oz, 18 1/2 inches long, brown hair, and looks a lot like his older brother. More details and pictures to come once I've recovered a little. We haven't chosen a name yet, but it will be either Asher, Tyce, or Thunderclap the Destroyer. I was feeling some discomfort through the night, but after Kevin left for work, I realized that I could be in labor. I called Kevin around 9 to tell him that I was having some painful contractions and he said he'd come right home. He carpools to work, so he had to find someone willing to let him borrow a car. He did. I called my Dad and he took Rylan and me to the hospital. He dropped me off, I came up by myself, no one was at the desk so I waited ... then MY doctor showed up and said, "They told me you were coming".
I said, "I feel like I'm going to throw up".
"Maybe you're in labor", he said.
"I don't want them (the doctors) to send me home, I said I wasn't going to be one of those they send home" (no offense)
While munching on his sandwich he said, "Go get checked in and they'll page me".
So the nurse checked me in, and I was dilated to a seven. They were surprised (and let me know) that I was so calmly standing there at a seven.
Kevin, my Mom, Tami, Deborah all showed up for the show. Dad took Rylan for a meal downstairs. I got my epidural and rejoiced. After a lot of waiting and the use of woman-part-names freely thrown around without restriction, the doctor came, and many nurses arrived. After a few pushes, our baby boy was born.
He is so cute. They weighed him, washed him up, and checked him. I wasn’t able to dispose of my placenta as quickly or effectively as anyone would hope but all is well. He was a little pale initially which caused a little concern, but he got some color a little later. After seeing him suck his thumb, we decided to nurse him; he latched on immediately.
Now, I rest. I’m watching TV while Kevin my handsome and talented husband writes on his computer. I’ve been holding the boy off and on. Kacy stopped by with her children bearing gifts ... thank you. Kevin went and got some Quiznos (beef dip).

Congratulations! I just loved reading your experience "Janell". Haha
well done Kev, I mean Janell. Congratulations you guys! That's so exciting! My vote is definitely for Thunderclap the Destroyer. I love you guys!
That was really funny! Well, congratulations!!
I have a random question for whenever you actually get around to answering questions (I can wait for a few months :) - did you (Janell) exercise while you were pregnant? I have this theory and I want to see if it holds. My delivery with Elijah was really similar. He was born pretty early, too, and was about the same size. When I checked into the hospital I wasn't sure if I was in labor, and the nurses were all shocked at how calm I was since I was dilated to 7cm. (It got worse and I got an epidural - phew!) Anyway, that was my only delivery to go so smoothly, and I had exercised a ton that pregnancy. So I'm wondering if my theory that the exercise helps is true. :)
Wow, Janell I was so excited to see that you had your baby I had to call and tell Stan. And I thought your baby would wait until after Halloween, how unpredictable is the timing of babies! I guess we won't be delivering at the same time huh, but I always figured you would deliver first anyway! Wow, I am so excited to see you, but I guess I can wait until you come home!
Congratulations Guys! We are so happy for you. Keep us updated and send some pictures soon!
YEAH!!! Can't wait until we see some pics!! Hope all is well and congrats!!!!

Congrats! Have fun with the little one. I would have named him Thundercat, instead of Thunderclap. Everyone loves the Thunder, Thunder, Thunder, Thundercats!
